Adventure Bike Subaru Journey
16 - 20 June 2021
The challenge came when Subaru Centurion wanted to combine its all-wheel-drive capabilities with a 2-wheel adventure bike experience.
We didn't hesitate in accepting the challenge, especially because we will be taking the road with the most affordable luxury all-wheel-drive vehicles.
Subaru has shifted from its rally racing heritage and changed its vehicles to be lifestyle adventure vehicles with its legendary Forester, Outback and XV.
Subaru is about having the confidence in going anywhere anytime!
Subaru is also the Japanese term for unite. Therefore, we wanted to unite all-wheel-drive vehicles with two-wheelers.
This adventure will go through three countries, over five days and four nights.
The adventure will be as follows:
Day 1 & 2
You will be going into the mountains and forests of Eswatini and find the jewel of its rich geological history of this kingdom for three days and two nights. In Eswatini we will be staying over at the famous Piggspeak Hotel and Casino.
We will be cross through to Mozambique, where Maputo's bikers club will welcome us at the border of Namaacha. Again, we will be challenging all the possible gravel roads to find our way across the new Maputo bridge coming into Maputo from the South (Bela Vista)
ATCM will then host us, the only and largest motorsport club in Mozambique endorsed by FIA. We will pay a visit to the race track for some refreshments, just before we take off to our final destination by the beach resort Lugar do Mar (accommodation) in Macanetta. Seafood and ice-cold beer will be awaiting you. This evening will be a GALA evening with the theme beach party! Dress code: Shorts, t-shirt, towel and slops. A Prize for the best dressed! (Be creative)
We will make a journey through Maputo on route to Ponto Douro, through the elephant reserve, to meet the ocean again on the furthest south point of this country bordering South Africa for a lunch experience and a dive in the sea.
We will then return to Maputo to one of the local bars. This is to support the local community. A quick little beer will be allowed as you will only be 1-2 km away from your final destination. Cell phone cards are available for Eswatini and Mozambique on request.
A special vehicle to carry all your access luggage for the total journey.
A backup crew (with basic equipment for roadside assistance)
Should you have a non SADEC passport, we will assist in VISA's for Mozambique.
All breakfasts and dinners
Lunch stops will be available for the guest's account.
A fuel sponsor will provide partial fuel contribution where possible on route throughout this destination. (GALP - Eswatini/Mozambique only)
